Cedar Lovebirds
Whimsical cedar carvings featuring the two Southeast Alaska Native moieties -- Eagle and Raven. A person who is Raven must marry a person who is Eagle under traditional Native protocol, hence the title "lovebirds." Hand carved in yellow cedar. Hand painted in traditional Tlingit colors. Legs and wings are moveable (legs bend, wings flap). Raven (the Trickster) is winking. Height: approximately 11 inches standing, 6.5 inches sitting with legs hanging over edge. 4 inches wide.
